Today I found myself overlooking the river and sipping on an Amstel beer (that had a slice of lemon in it) with a friend; a day in paradise.
For the last year myself and this friend have been a part of group of people who play basketball in a juvenile detention centre; and we were both commenting on how hard it had been to go in and play lately. Then it dawned upon me: the role of a leader is to continually bring purpose back onto the radar for those in a community. I write this because I remember we started playing basketball in the prison with dream of being a voice of hope, and to simply love those that society chose to forget; but somewhere along the way I forgot why we were actually doing this- and it had become a chore.
I hope Mosaic can be a place that reminds people like me that we take action for a purpose, and for a reason... though we are weary let us continue to awaken humanity, be a voice of hope, live by faith, and be known for our love.
I took this picture with my phone today, and it reminds me of hope somehow...
